R.I.P Heavy D
Heavy D, the smooth-talking and cheerful rapper who billed himself as “the overweight lover M.C.,” died in Los Angeles on Tuesday. He was 44.
According to Ed Winter of the Los Angeles County Coroner's office, the beloved artist, born Dwight Errington Myers, was already ill before he collapsed Tuesday morning just outside his Beverly Hills condominium.
"He had gone to the doctor the day before," Winter told New York's Daily News. "He had what appeared to be flu-like symptoms." Also had a touch of pneumonia, maybe from traveling," cousin Ruddy Phillips, 50, said.
The Overweight Lover was conscious though experiencing trouble breathing when he was transported to Cedars Sinai Medical Center after a 911 call was placed at 11:25 a.m. PT on his behalf Tuesday. However, he was pronounced dead at 1 p.m. PT. Although an autopsy has been performed, the coroner is declining to announce any cause of death until toxicology tests are conducted due to Heavy taking various medications.

R.I.P Donald Cortez "Don" Cornelius
Don Cornelius dies at 75; creator of 'Soul Train'
Cornelius, 75, was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles Wednesday after a family member found him in his home in Encino with a gunshot wound to his head, according to law enforcement sources. The wound appeared to be self-inflicted, but the death was being investigated by police. Friends say he had been in poor health.
Don Cornelius pulled $400 from his own pocket to launch the dance show on a local Chicago TV station in 1970. As host and executive producer of "Soul Train," he was soon at the throttle of a nationally syndicated television institution that was the first dance show to cater to the musical tastes of black teenagers and also helped bring black music, dance, fashion and style to mainstream America.

R.I.P *Whitney*
Pop queen Whitney Houston dies at age 48.
Beverly Hills police Lt. Mark Rosen told reporters outside the Beverly Hilton that Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. in her room on the fourth floor of the hotel. Her body remained there and Beverly Hills detectives were investigating. "There were no obvious signs of any criminal intent at this time," Rosen said. Rosen said police received a 911 call from hotel security about Houston at 3:43 p.m. Saturday. Paramedics who were already at the hotel because of a Grammy party unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate the singer, he said.
Houston's death came on the eve of music's biggest night -- the Grammy Awards. It's a showcase where she once reigned, and her death was sure to cast a heavy pall on Sunday's ceremony.
Her longtime mentor Clive Davis was to hold his annual concert and dinner Saturday, and a representative of the show said it would proceed.
Houston was supposed to appear at the gala, said Davis.

Chuck Brown dies: The ‘Godfather of Go-Go’
Chuck Brown, the gravelly voiced bandleader who capitalized on funk’s percussive pulse to create go-go, the genre of music that has soundtracked life in black Washington for more than three decades, died May 16 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He was 75.
The death, from complications from sepsis, was confirmed by his manager, Tom Goldfogle. Mr. Brown had been hospitalized for pneumonia.
Known as the “Godfather of Go-Go,” the performer, singer, guitarist and songwriter developed his commanding brand of funk in the mid-1970s to compete with the dominance of disco.
Like a DJ blending records, Mr. Brown used nonstop percussion to stitch songs together and keep the crowd on the dance floor, resulting in marathon performances that went deep into the night. Mr. Brown said the style got its name because “the music just goes and goes.”

27 reported killed in Newton, Conn., school shooting
NEWTOWN, Conn. -- A lone gunman killed 27 people at an elementary school here, including 18 children, in a terrifying early Friday morning shooting spree.
The Associated Press and local media reported the shooter, an unidentified adult male, was also dead at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Two handguns were recovered at the scene. Mayor Mark Boughton said several victims had been taken to local hospitals.
Groups of students — some crying, some holding hands — were being escorted away from the school by their teachers. Some witnesses reported of up to 100 shots.
Sandy Hook is in a residential, wooded neighborhood about 90 minutes north of New York City. It has has 39 teachers and about 650 students. A reverse 911 call went out to parents warning of an incident. Parents were being reunited with children. But, NBC Connecticut reported, police were searching the area behind the school with guns drawn.
Terese Lestik was relieved to find her five year old daughter, Eva, unharmed.
"I heard a boom-boom,'' Eva said of the gunshots she heard earlier.
"I'm horrified,'' said Terese Lestik. "I just pray for whoever is hurt."
Alexis Wasik, a third-grader at the school, said police were checking everybody inside the school before they were escorted to the firehouse. She said she heard shots and saw her former nursery school teacher being taken out of the building on a stretcher, but didn't know if the woman had been shot.
"We had to walk with a partner," said Wasik, 8. One child leaving the school said that there was shattered glass everywhere. A police officer ran into the classroom and told them to run outside and keep going until the reach the firehouse, The Hartford Courant reported.
Dozens of state troopers are on the scene assisting local police. Heavily armed police gathered in front of the school around 10:45 a.m., and a number of stretchers were set up.
Location of Conn. school shooting
The school superintendent's office says the district has locked down schools as a preventive measure to ensure the safety of students and staff. State police spokesman Lt. Paul Vance says they have a number of personnel on the scene to assist.

20 year old Adam took this Lli country town by surprise. He took 20 babies from their parents 11days before Christmas. Those poor children never asked for this. Babies ages 4to 8 were among those lost.
Report sayAdam had been planning this for awhile. He start this killing spree with the death of his mother at home. Whom had thought at the elementary. They think she was a substitute at the school. With this said they feel he was trying to hurt the ones she loved the littlest children at Sandy elementary.
He also took 6 adult life's in this shooting. He had 2 handgun and an rifle. He had more weapons subposible in his vehicle. His brother was questioned about the event. He said his brother (Adam) is suffering from mental issues.
OK now I feel mad, upset, afraid, curious, and dumbfounded to how something can happen like this. I know as a parent of 4 beautiful children, I can't even father this. My 9 year old asked me way he did it, and I truely didn't know what to say. I break down in tears AND said sweetheart God felt it was time for those sweet angels to come live with him. Then she asked what about the Guy who shot them why he do it. I was like I really don't know. Some times people just can't take life anymore and do stupid things for no reason. Now as I looked at her I started crying reached over grabbed he so tight and said baby I love you. With tears in her eyes she looked at me and said mommy will something like that happen at my school. I was like baby I can't say yes or no, but rest a sure that your school will protect you. Both of us crying I was thinking oh God why...........
So I am saddened by all of this and don't have all the answers but I tried. With love, hope, and prayers, I wish the best to the community around Sandy elementary. To the parents of the tragic event God bless you in your time of need. Know that your babies smile down from heaven walking hand and hand with God.
Now we prayer..... Dear Lord bless all those effected by this tragic event. Bless all the fireman, teachers, cops, parents, and others whom help save this precious lil souls. God take good care of the 20 babies that walk with you now and help their family cope with their loss. God give your strength to those whom may need it at this and other tragic moments to come. In the Lords name we say AMEN.
God bless the small country woodland town on this truely sad day.

Hello
Very enlightening WELUV2PLAY. Thank You.
Dear Lord, give the children of Sandy Hook Elementary strength to say “no” to outside influences that they would later be remorseful about–that they would do what is right for them and for the world around them. Help them to be kind to others. Protect them from unstabled people who would harm them physically, emotionally and mentally. Let them know that allowing You to direct their way is the smartest thing they can do. In Jesus wonderful and powerful name. Amen

Sorry for my late delay for responding to this thread. Honestly I had to find the words and emotionally get myself together to comment. I wanna send my condolences to those educators and kids that was horrifically deposed of due to a foolish psycho that just in my eyes lost his mind to kill innocent children. You kill your mother and then decide to drive a hour or so to then kill kids at a elementary school, is totally distasteful and I hope his soul burn in hell. I pray for the kids and parents that were there to either witness and/or lost someone special for this disgraceful act of destruction. I am so upset and thankful, that it is bring tears to my eyes while I am writing this, I dunno what emotion to feel. It could have been anyone of kids and I know that we should do something to not only protect ourselves, but our children.
